TitanHQ Adds Geo-Blocking in Latest Release of SpamTitan Email Security

TitanHQ has released of a new version of its award-winning SpamTitan email security solution. The Fall 2021 release – SpamTitan 7.11 – includes several enhancements to improve detection of threats such as malware, ransomware, APTs, spear phishing, and malicious URLs, with the updated version providing greater threat insights to help administrators mitigate risks more effectively.

SpamTitan 7.11 includes a new feature – geo-blocking – that has been requested by many customers. Spam and malicious emails can be sent from any location, but there are some countries where malicious and unwanted emails are more likely to originate. Geo-blocking allows administrators to easily place restrictions on emails from certain countries. Emails that originate in any country in the SpamTitan Country IP Database can be blocked with the click of a mouse to instantly mitigate geographic threat vectors. Geo-blocking can be managed at the admin, domain group, domain and user level. If a SpamTitan user wants to place a block on a country, but does have contacts in that country, domains, email addresses, and IP addresses can be whitelisted to ensure that emails are always delivered. The new geo-blocking feature is deactivated by default and will need to be configured in the GUI.

“Geoblocking has been a much-requested feature and as always we listen to our customer and provide what they need to implement the very best email security they can,” said TitanHQ CEO Ronan Kavanagh. “After experiencing 30% growth in 2021, TitanHQ expects these product enhancements and new features to make 2021 another record-breaking year.”

The sandboxing feature of SpamTitan allows suspicious emails to be subjected to in-depth analysis in safety. The sandboxing feature has received an upgrade in the latest version to improve threat detection. Other updates include enhanced email rendering in Mail Viewer, optional removal of quarantine report token expiry, and improvements to domain verification. Recently reported bugs have also been fixed.

SpamTitan 7.11 was released on September 14, 2021 and has been automatically applied for SpamTitan Cloud users.  SpamTitan Gateway users will need to download the new version of the solution manually through System Setup > System Updates.
