The Irish cybersecurity firm TitanHQ, a leading SaaS business offering a portfolio of cloud-based cybersecurity solutions with a focus on email, has announced the acquisition of the Dublin-based security awareness firm Cyber Risk Aware.
Cyber Risk Aware was formed in 2016 and provides the only behavior-driven security awareness platform that provides real-time training to help counter the threat from phishing and other cybersecurity threats that target employees. Over 90% of security incidents are attributed to human error and a lack of staff awareness about risks. The platform was developed to help businesses create a human firewall to better protect against cyber threats and meet their compliance objectives.
Cyber Risk Aware was founded in 2016 by Stephen Burke, a CISO and Cyber Insurance Underwriting Advisor and the platform is now used by hundreds of companies to improve staff security awareness, including Standard Charter, Glen Dimplex, Applegreen, Smyths Toy Superstores, Invesco, and SkyBet.
TitanHQ has been providing cybersecurity solutions to enterprises and managed service providers for more than 20 years and has more than 8,500 customers globally including 2,500 managed services providers. Prior to the acquisition, TitanHQ’s product portfolio consisted of 4 product families: SpamTitan Email Security, WebTitan DNS Filtering, ArcTitan Email Archiving, and EncryptTitan Email Encryption. The acquisition has seen Cyber Risk Aware’s security awareness platform added to the portfolio, which will be offered to TitanHQ customers as SafeTitan Security Awareness Training.
“This is a fantastic addition to the TitanHQ team and solution portfolio. It allows us to add a human protection layer to our MSP Security platform, with a fantastic feature-rich solution as demonstrated by the high-caliber customers using it. Stephen and his team have built a great company over the years, and we are delighted to have them join the exciting TitanHQ journey.” said TitanHQ CEO Ronan Kavanagh.
SafeTitan is available to existing and new customers, and MSP partners can now add security awareness training to their product portfolios to provide better value and increase customer spending, while better protecting them against phishing, malware, BEC attacks, and data breaches. Existing Cyber Risk Aware customers will be able to continue using the platform and will benefit from greater investment, an increase in phishing simulation content, and an innovative product roadmap.
