Sophos Included in Gartner UTM Magic Quadrant for 2017

Sophos has announced it has been included in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Threat Management. Gartner’s Magic Quadrants include the best companies in their respective fields, with each firm rated for their completeness of vision and ability to execute. If both ratings are sufficiently high, the company is included in the Magic Quadrant.

To be included is a great honor and clearly demonstrates companies are leaders in their field. This year, there were only three companies that were included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Threat Management.

This is not the first time the company has been included. Sophos consistently appears in the Magic Quadrant, and was the only IT security company to be consistently included in the Magic Quadrants for Unified Threat Management and Endpoint Protection Platforms. This is now the sixth consecutive year that the company’s SMB Multifunction Firewalls have been included in the Magic Quadrant for Unified Threat Management.

Dan Schiappa, senior vice president and general manager of the Enduser and Network Security groups at Sophos, said “We believe the consecutive placement of Sophos as leader in this report validates the strength of our vision and our ability to deliver products with the scale, reliability, and highest levels of protection that customers demand.”

Sophos believes the consistent inclusion in the Magic Quadrant is down to five simple reasons. Its solutions are easy to deploy, engineered for speed, there is no need to buy any additional hardware, users get highly detailed reports and the firm is constantly innovating to improve its products.

Sophos has enjoyed above market growth for its network and endpoint products in the past financial year, clearly showing the firm is meeting the needs of customers in a rapidly expanding market. Sophos reported increases in billings of 17.8% for its network security business. The reported market growth for last year was 10%.
