PhishLabs has launched a new T2 threat intelligence service that provides near-real time intelligence on Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) and spear phishing campaigns. The new threat intelligence service has been incorporated into the firm’s T2 Spear Phishing Protection solution.
The intelligence is gathered by the company’s threat analysists, reverse engineers and malware researchers at the company headquarters in Charleston, SC. The team investigates active spear phishing campaigns that have been uncovered by its analysts and reported by its platform users.
Those threats are subjected to deep analysis and indicators of compromise and threat intelligence is then disseminated via threat alerts to users who sign up for the new T2 Threat Intelligence Service. Armed with this intelligence, which is sent more rapidly than other intelligence services, organizations can take proactive steps to mitigate attacks before they occur.
PhishLabs says its T2 Threat Intelligence Service includes details of active spear phishing threats that have yet to be detected by security technologies. While many cybersecurity companies provide an automated phishing intelligence service to alert organizations to active phishing and spear phishing threats, the volume of information sent can result in key threats being missed by security professionals. To help prevent information overload, PhishLabs analysts assess the threats and remove false positives.
Intelligence alerts are compatible with industry standards for threat intelligence sharing (STIX/TAXII) and can be sent via email or directly to network and security analytics technologies.
“With real-time intelligence into spear phishing campaigns, organizations can get ahead of this threat and proactively minimize their exposure,” explained John LaCour, Founder and CEO of PhishLabs.
The PhishLabs T2 Spear Phishing Protection solution also includes T2 Employee Defense Training to raise awareness of security threats and teach employees how to recognize and respond to email-based threats. T2 Analysis and Mitigation analyses the potential phishing attacks reported by users and mitigates attacks before they result in a system compromise. Each service can be subscribed to separately, although the whole package ensures end-to-end phishing and spear phishing protection.
