New Hampshire Health Information Organization Chooses TigerText as Secure Messaging Provider

The New Hampshire Health Information Organization (NHHIO) has chosen TigerText to help streamline patient care and allow patient health data to be shared securely between members of the New Hampshire healthcare community.

NHNIO is a not-for-profit organization that was formed to help facilitate the digital exchange of health information. The organization currently connects over 100 healthcare providers in the state of New Hampshire, helping healthcare organizations share patient data securely, and by doing so, improve efficiency and patient safety while driving down healthcare costs.

While pagers can be used to contact physicians, the technology is outdated and results in many wasted hours and considerable frustration. Additionally, pagers cannot be used to send protected health information (PHI) without violating Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Rules.

The ability to send and receive PHI securely, in accordance with HIPAA Rules, has potential to increase the efficiency of providing healthcare services, cut back on wasted time, increase workflow, improve the coordination of care, cut costs, and improve patient outcomes.

NHHIO has been searching for new technology that can be leveraged to improve communication between physicians and other members of care teams and TigerText offered the best solution.

Mary Beth Eldredge, Board Chair of NHHIO believes the use of the TigerText secure messaging platform will help healthcare organizations to provide physicians with the information they need to make critical care decisions and enable healthcare organizations to cut back on unnecessary costs. Eldredge says, “The use of secure texting can greatly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of care coordination and provider communication.”

Healthcare providers that are part of the New Hampshire Health Information Organization network are being encouraged to sign up and start using TigerText. All organizations part of the NHHIO network will be offered special pricing to help speed up adoption of the secure, HIPAA-compliant messaging platform.

Organizations that have already implemented TigerText have benefitted from enhanced productivity and are achieving considerable cost savings. One healthcare organization has reported having made cost savings of more than $1 million per year after transitioning to the TigerText secure messaging platform from hospital pagers. More than 5,000 healthcare facilities in the United States are now using the TigerText platform to improve communication between members of care teams and drive down costs.
