Leading anti-phishing training company KnowBe4 has teamed up with the cloud-based email security firm Barracuda Networks Inc., to provide a more comprehensive anti-phishing solution.
KnowBe4 has developed a popular security awareness training program that helps organizations crease a ‘human firewall’ to resist phishing attacks that make it past their security defenses. The Knowbe4 platform trains employees how to recognize email-based threats and respond appropriately. The company also offers a phishing simulation platform that organizations can use to test how effective their training programs have been.
Phishing is the number one security threat faced by organizations and the risk from ransomware has also grown significantly in recent years. Ransomware is now one of the top three malware threats, capable of causing considerable disruption with attacks costing companies dearly. Ransomware infections primarily occur via email.
Security awareness training is now essential as no software-based cybersecurity solution can be 100% effective. When malicious emails reach inboxes, employees must be prepared and know how to identify and deal with threats.
Barracuda is a leading cybersecurity firm that offers, among other products, a cloud-based email filtering solution that neutralizes malicious emails. Barracuda Essentials is trusted by thousands of companies and provides protecting from spam and phishing attacks by blocking malicious links and neutralizing infected email attachments.
The solution works with Office 365 although until recently, Barracuda Essentials was not compatible with the KnowBe4 platform. Now, both platforms have been tweaked and can be seamlessly integrated. Barracuda Essentials blocks the majority of threats, and those that make it past security defenses are blocked by the KnowBe4-trained ‘human firewall’.
