GorillaStack Named Startup Specialist of the Year at the 2017 ARN ICT Awards

GorillaStack, the Sydney-based provider of cloud cost optimization tools, was only formed in 2015 but the firm has certainly hit the ground running. The company has already launched tools to help businesses cut back on spiraling cloud expenditure by providing visibility into where money is being spent in the cloud and helping them to cut back on unnecessary costs.

Businesses are now embracing the cloud and taking advantage of the flexibility cloud computing offers, and the potential for cutting back on IT costs. However, if care is not taken, businesses can end up spending far more on cloud services that is necessary.

There is a propensity in the market for cloud deployments to be over-provisioned. Businesses are paying far too much for resources that are underutilized or in many cases, not used at all.

The firm’s cloud cost optimization tools provide visibility into cloud expenditure and help companies shave hundreds, and in some cases thousands, from their cloud bills.

After an impressive first year developing its cloud cost reduction and AWS automation tools, tweaking features, and adding new functionality, the firm has started to attract major customers who are now making significant savings on their cloud costs. The firm has been concentrating on marketing its product to the right customers, adding more features to ensure those customers can maximize savings, and improving its tools to make them more user friendly.

The company’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. At the recent ARN ITC Industry Awards, GorillaStack collected a Startup Specialist of the Year Award.

The awards are given to companies that have – or are expected to – make the biggest impact in the Australian channel. This year’s awards saw more than 50 partners make the shortlist for the awards, along with more than 20 tech startups from the length and breadth of Australia. GorillaStack was selected as the top specialist startup from all of those startups.

“We’re stoked to have picked up the award for Startup Specialist of the Year 2017 – something that wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance & feedback from our customers,” said GorillaStack co-founder, Oliver Berger.
