Botmetric has released Botmetric 2.0 – The latest version of its cloud cost management and optimization tool. While previous versions have allowed customers to make important savings on their cloud bills, the latest version is better suited to the needs of the workforce across an organization.
Cloud management and optimization tools give businesses in-depth insights into their cloud environments, allowing them to manage their cloud smartly and rightsize provisioning to match utilization. Botmetric has developed its platform to provide organizations with information about potential cost saving opportunities and to make management easy. However, after listening to its customers the firm discovered many still face operational challenges and are spending a considerable amount of time managing their cloud infrastructure, even with the use advanced cloud management tools such as Botmetric.
One of the key issues is different teams within an organization have different requirements, different priorities, and require different information. To make a platform that was ideally suited to the CIO and Operations team, the CISO and IT security team, and DevOps, a different approach was required.
Botmetric deconstructed the platform and reassembled it in modules, with each of the three new modules ideally suited to each of the above teams. The CIO and Operations team have a Cost Management and Governance module providing information on further cost saving opportunities. The Security and Compliance Module has been developed for the CISO that provides information that can be used to reinforce security. The Ops & Automation Module has specifically been developed for the CTO and developer team and focusses on automating tasks to improve productivity and make DevOps faster. Depending on an organization’s needs, they can choose one, two or all three of the new modules. “
However, the new version was not just a repackaging exercise to better suit the platform to users’ needs. More than 50 new features have been introduced in Botmetric 2.0, including Data Transfer Analytics, DevOps intelligence, Compliance Audit Policies, AWS EC2 cost analytics, and Smart Reserved Instance Management. Many of the old features have benefited from re-working and a redesign to reduce information overload.
Updates in version 2 include:
- Consistent UX across the platform and the apps
- Freedom to choose what is necessary with modularized applications
- Improved reporting and admin modules
- Brand new features with intelligence
- A highly responsive and modular design
Botmetric picked Thanksgiving for the launch of version 2.0 of its platform to show thanks to all of its customers for the help and support they have provided. The feedback received has helped the firm develop its platform further to better suit the needs of users.
