KnowBe4 has appointed Perry Carpenter as its new Chief Evangelist and Strategy Officer. Carpenter’s role will be to help guide innovation and oversee the continued evolution of KnowBe4’s range of phishing defense solutions that target the human element of security.
KnowBe4 has developed a ‘new school’ approach to security awareness training, being aware that simply providing training to end users is no longer sufficient to protect against increasingly sophisticated attackers. In addition to providing end user training on a wide range of email and web-based threats, KnowBe4 has developed a phishing simulation platform to put end users’ knowledge to the test. The platform gives employees practice at identifying phishing emails in a safe environment and greatly reduces user susceptibility to phishing and social engineering attacks.
The company’s platform is now the most popular security awareness and phishing simulation product and is now used by more than 8,500 organizations around the globe. The Tampa-based company debuted at number 139 on the 2016 Inc., 500 list and has been ranked number 50 on Deloitte’s 2016 Technology Fast 500 List.
Carpenter has held positions at a number of Fortune 500 companies and has firsthand experience at leading security awareness training programs. He has been instrumental in transforming the culture in those firms and making the workforce more security aware.
Carpenter was the former Research Director, Security & Risk Management and a highly regarded analyst at Gartner Research. While at the firm, Carpenter analyzed the entirety of the security & risk management market and has helped countless firms develop their own security awareness programs and improve their last line of defense against hackers and cybercriminals.
Carpenter has a wealth of experience and will help to ensure KnowBe4 continues as a global leader in security solutions.
